A longtime Austinite and a proud Westlake High School graduate, Joanie's far-reaching connections within the city's social and business communities are the foundation of her success. She has traveled these roads as a high school student, a runner, a mom, and a realtor, all with the same passion and enthusiasm that fueled her success. Joanie knows the local landscape, what's happening in the community, and who to call. This experience in Austin gives her an edge navigating both market-based and private transactions for a broad spectrum of clients.

Real estate is in Joanie's DNA, having grown up in a real estate family. Before obtaining her broker's license, Joanie traveled extensively, sold securities on the trading floor, worked in the lending side of the market, and did finance work for high-net-worth individuals. Her real estate career began in 2003 at one of Austin's premier brokerage firms, where she stayed until her transition to Compass at the end of 2019. Her licensed assistant, Julie Denney, is her sister. With Julie's background in the title business and Joanie's prowess as a full-service Realtor, the duo works tirelessly for clients whenever and wherever they are needed. The drive to challenge herself and continue learning has earned her accolades in Austin's dynamic market. She was recently selected to join the Luxury League for the sixth time and is a 9-year member of the Elite 25 (the top .25% of Austin brokers).

A native Texan, Joanie has lived in Westlake for 24 years with her husband, a high school science teacher, and their three school-age children. An active volunteer in her children's schools, she also is a longtime volunteer for Young Life. Joanie embraces Austin's outdoor lifestyle. When she is not working, you'll find her in running gear or on her mountain bike enjoying Austin's trails.
