John Withers

John is the Founder and President of Stag Commercial. He is a Denton native and a graduate of Denton High School. He attended Baylor University where he played football and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. After graduation, John jumped into real estate in 2006 has never looked back.

He hit the ground running in an attempt to better serve Denton’s business community and that is exactly what he has done over the last 17 years. In John’s career, he has brokered over $250M in commercial transactions. There is no asset type or transaction that John isn’t familiar with. To name a few, John has brokered office, retail, industrial, and multifamily assets. He handles lease negotiations, commercial disposition and acquisitions, and equity raises.

You could say that John’s first love is investment sales, because investment sales comprise over half of John’s career consideration. John currently holds active Brokers License in both Texas and Oklahoma. He has also held his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation since 2014.

Along with work John is currently an active member of several local community groups including the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors (NTCAR), the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Denton Economic Development Partnership, Oklahoma City Metropolitan Association of Realtors (OKCMAR), Denton County Ducks Unlimited, the Denton Chamber of Commerce and a lifetime member of the Dallas Safari Club.

John’s purpose for work is his family, and he and his wife Erika have two daughters, Avery and Reese. When not at work John spends his time coaching or being outdoors trying to play golf, fishing, and hunting.
