About Jose

A New York native, Jose Nunez grew up admiring the local architecture and lifestyle of New York City. Thus began an interest that eventually took him away from his previous sales careers at IBM and MCI where he honed his sales and marketing skills to the benefit of his real estate clientele. Well versed in the art and science of marketing homes, Jose communicates freely with his clients, giving them the plain truth when it comes to the nuances and intricacies of the real estate market in Greater New York City. Jose's work involves single family homes, townhomes, and new condominium developments throughout Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. He assists out-of-towners relocating to the city, millennials looking for their first home, or locals wanting to downsize or upgrade their current residence.

In 2011, Jose partnered with his wife, Aroza Sanjana, and introduced the prestigious Sotheby's International Realty brand to Brooklyn as owner/brokers. With their combined talents and drive, Jose and Aroza expanded their agency into Williamsburg and Cobble Hill as Avenue Sotheby's International Realty. In 2022, they sold the company to the one-hundred-year-old affiliate, Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty, broadening their network among peers and professionals.

With his signature humor and geniality, Jose makes his clients feel right at home, like they are being taken care of from the start. Jose genuinely enjoys his work because it allows him to encounter so many different people from diverse walks-of-life, backgrounds, and cultures. He truly relishes meeting new people and instilling in them the comfort of knowing he has their best interests in mind.

What drives Jose to strive for excellence in everything he does is his adoration of his wife and two boys with whom he can often be found outside of the country traveling or playing all varieties of sports, but mostly tennis and golf. When he is not working tirelessly at the office, he considers playing a few rounds of golf with friends necessary, in order to recharge his batteries and be at the ready to assist his clients. He and his wife sit on the Board of the Shields Institute, a local non-profit committed to the advancement of autistic children and adults, often volunteering and fund raising with his family at every opportunity.
