In addition to receiving a bachelors degree from Indiana University and an MBA from the University of Toledo, Joe has received advanced training from top real estate experts across the country. Prior to starting his real estate career, Joe spent seven years with Harbor Capital Advisors, giving him an extensive background in finance, technology, and sales that has benefited his real estate clients. Joe is a member of the University of Toledo's finance advisory board, a passionate member of UTMC's Medical Research Society that gives annual grants to some of the best minds in our area, and is most proud of his long affiliation with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Toledo. Originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Joe moved to Toledo in 1996 and has been proud to raise his family here. He's a devoted husband & father of two young men, a black belt in karate, and loves being on the water.

His business partner, Lance Tyo, has become the most accomplished sales agent in our market over the past 40+ years. Much of their business comes from serving the needs of transferring employees within corporations that have come to trust the Tyo Mathias Team's level of service.
