Karen Soscia brings 20-plus years of real estate experience to Premier Sotheby's International Realty. Her real estate career began when she was an on-site salesperson for a major builder in Gainesville, Florida while her husband attended medical school at the University of Florida. Karen then worked for a local Sarasota and Bradenton real estate company from 2004 to 2014. In 2015, she moved to another real estate firm in Sarasota while she was a home flipper, buying and selling five homes that were foreclosures and making them beautiful for happy buyers.
Karen considers herself a pioneer, having been one of the very first women to ever be permitted into our military academies (West Point) in 1984. She also fought in a war, serving as a lieutenant with the 24th Infantry Division in Operation Desert Storm as a transportation officer.
Karen's mission is to move families forward with unparalleled, focused energy. She also has an extensive construction background after buying and selling five fixer-uppers and two personal homes that she general contracted that were roughly million-dollar homes. Karen can help any buyer or seller that needs to make home repairs and changes, deal with permitting, subcontractors, etc. She holds the Seller Representative Specialist designation and is a member of the REALTOR® Association of Sarasota and Manatee.
Outside of real estate, Karen is an avid crossfitter. At 54, she can still climb a 30-foot rope and deadlift 200 pounds. Karen also raises backyard chickens and honeybees. She is a respect life coordinator at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Karen served eight years in the Entre Nous Club, the oldest women's service club in Manatee County. She served as president, president-elect, secretary, and treasurer and oversaw the most successful Tour of Homes to date in 2016. Karen has a Bachelor of Science in engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York.
