Over the years John and Kimberly have owned different businesses. Everything from day spas to concrete. While Kimberly was in pharmaceutical sales and John was (and still is) looking handsome in his fire department uniform they moved in together and wanted to make their home a reflection of their crazy personalities. If Kimberly may summarize it would go something like this. Each home they moved into; they spiffed up. John would build something gorgeous and unexpected that would take them in a certain direct. From there the fun began with staging and then about a month later someone would make an offer to buy it. Four times in a year and a half to be exact. To this day their kids panic at the thought of moving again. Insert the creation of Design to Sell.
What started as a staging business quickly turned into construction. They would walk into a home and immediately dream of what could be done. As soon as they saw how enthusiastically their clients reacted, they could not turn back!
There John and Kimberly were able to really learn the construction side of things. For those of you who know them or have collaborated with them, you know they make a “passionate’ team. Their meetings usually consist of a lot of flying hands and the words. Working together as a team, John in construction and Kimberly in design, they have loved every moment of making their clients dreams become a reality.
Many of John and Kimberly’s friends and family were surprised to hear how much time Design to Sell spent with realtors helping to bid out their client’s potential forever home. Can this wall come down? What would it cost to enlarge the master bathroom? How does one make the desirable kitchen in a hurry, and more. This dreaming and scheming with buyers really is one of the most fun parts of their job. People are shocked when they learn what can truly be done! Thinking outside-the-box is John and Kimberly’s specialty and that is a perfect time to do it! The hand off from realtor to them was usually when the keys exchanged hands, but they just fell in love with the process of finding the potential in a home that needed some additional vision. It was at that point that they decided to add real estate to their suite of services. Fast forward one year. Yes, that is how long it took to do that with three kids and a full construction calendar! The journey was long and VERY comical, but John and Kimberly wouldn’t change a thing.
You are probably asking why Kimberly is boring you with all of this? All these twists and turns are what have brought Kimberly to this place. Not just to real estate but to what kind of agent Kimberly is today.
