Laura Hazelip Johnston

Although it was a serendipitous turn of events that led Laura into a career in real estate 17 years ago, it was a natural fit. She is a born connector whose early and ardent love of design, architecture and home inspiration made her perfectly suited for it.

Laura loves to share her vision that she can see for a house and how she can collaborate with her clients to make it their dream home. She is enthusiastic about finding the right home for a family, the right buyer for a house and the best outcome for each client. She has an eye for details that are often lost to others, and she will collaborate with clients to utterly understand what they want and need. She brings her expertise, inspired vision, and special attention to the table each time, and often ends up passing along design tips, suggestions for how to get the most out of each room and what paint color will truly highlight each space.

Laura is a fourth generation Louisville native. She loves that real estate provides her an opportunity to work throughout the diverse and eclectic neighborhoods in such a personal and firsthand way. Laura and her husband, Robert, share two young sons, and together have a passion for finding properties and rescuing the gem hidden within.

Laura attended the College of Charleston, where she spent 4 years being charmed and lured by the inherent inspiration, design, and history resplendent within. She would often wander through the cobblestone streets admiring the architecture and details on iron gates that had withstood wars and hurricanes, and delight in catching glimpses of the secret gardens nestled behind them.

Laura joined the Skelton company team in 2003. She loves working for a family office and is proud to be a part of a third-generation company that has maintained their focus, traditions, and dedication to personal service over their over 70-year history.

Her motto in real estate is the same as in life: she works for her clients the way she would want someone to work for her.
