About Leslie

A lifelong New Yorker, Leslie Rutherfurd Coleman has earned a distinguished reputation as one of New York City’s top residential real estate brokers. With over 18 years of industry experience, specializing in Manhattan’s high-end market, Leslie is highly sought after for her considerable expertise and discretion. A confident, yet calming demeanor is a testament to her inimitable knowledge of the luxury market, as well as an astute understanding for the needs of her discerning clientele.

Leslie joined the luxury real estate firm, Brown Harris Stevens, to collaborate with her mother, Mary K. Rutherfurd. Their combined knowledge of New York’s neighborhoods, buildings and history has proved immensely successful over the years in achieving their client’s objectives. In 2017, Leslie and Mary were recognized for the biggest cooperative deal of the year at Brown Harris Stevens for their sale of the Penthouse at The Pierre. In the following year, the pair also sold a 40-foot-wide town house located at 146 East 65th street, the former home of David Rockefeller. In 2014, they earned the top price for the sale of a cooperative apartment at 960 Fifth Avenue, and in 2013 and 2012 they earned top recognition for the prices achieved in the sales of three Fifth Avenue apartments owned by the prominent Huguette Clark Estate. The Wall Street Journal and Real Trends have recognized Leslie and Mary as one of America’s top real estate professional teams.

Leslie provides the highest level of professionalism and is widely respected for her reputation for absolute discretion. This has provided her the opportunity to work on some of the largest residential real estate transactions in New York City. Leslie’s ability to engender trust among clients and colleagues has earned her countless referrals collaborating with prominent clients in the worlds of finance, law, entertainment, and politics.

Leslie attended Sacred Heart and graduated from Brooks School and Skidmore College with a B.A. in Art History. Prior to joining Brown Harris Stevens, she worked in the Old Master Paintings Department at Sotheby’s. Leslie and her husband, Kevin Coleman, the founder of Coleman Research, have three sons. They live on the Upper East Side and spend weekends and holidays at their home on Fishers Island, NY. Leslie is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York, serves on the Administrative Board of the Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and has served as President of the Parents Committee at the Buckley School.
