As a community leader and volunteer for over 17 years, Meril has advocated on many issues to improve the quality and safety of Malibu. As the president of the Malibu Association of REALTORS® for 2014 and served on the board for a total of 13 years, serving as a City of Malibu Public Safety Commissioner 2012-2016, participating on a special Pacific Coast Highway Safety Task Force, and working to reduce water consumption, Meril is engaged for an improved community.
Meril blends his economic expertise, real estate market knowledge, sales, marketing, and customer relations to help clients make informed decisions through the buying and selling process. It is a complex process that needs a coordinated effort of all those involved. Sometimes it is not smooth sailing, and that is why experience, relationships, and trust are so important.
These are qualities Meril has studied, evolved, and practiced. Past participation on the Malibu Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors and the MLS Board, and as a California Association of REALTORS® Director, has consistently required Meril to be an ethical agent and role model. He is also a tenacious negotiator and dealmaker, thinking outside the box for creative solutions. Sometimes the way to the finish line is not what appears to be obvious.
Prior to his career in real estate, Meril started advertising and marketing in 1982 and then expanded their responsibilities to include managing company-owned assets/equipment to maximize yield. In the late 90’s Meril was with an energy exploration and production company at a startup, helping grow the company with payroll, human resources, facility setup, purchasing director, design, and management of equipment. Marketing, advertising, sales, asset utilization, and value maximization, as well as working with people, formed a strong foundation for future opportunities for Meril.
He and his wife enjoy tennis, cycling, skiing, and walks on the fantastic Malibu beaches. Travel is another interest, but they are always glad to return to Malibu.
