Merri's roots run deep in Ithaca, her hometown where she was born and raised. After completing her college education, she made a deliberate choice to return, laying down her family's roots in the same community. Driven by an unwavering commitment to give back, she has lent her expertise to various boards including The Ellis Hollow Community Center, Tompkins Girls Hockey Association, Ithaca Youth Hockey Association, and served as Co-president of the Ithaca High School Sports Boosters. Currently, she continues her community involvement by sitting on the board for the Ithaca Adult Hockey League. Merri resides in Ithaca with her husband John and their two dogs. They have two adult children.
