About Neil

Neil D. Hummel, Principal Broker/Owner of the company that bears his name, began his real estate career in 1973. After working as an agent for 5 years, Neil and his wife, Cathy Hummel, decided to start The Neil Company Real Estate in 1977. Over his professional career Neil obtained the advanced Real Estate degrees of GRI, CRB, and CRS, which demonstrates his commitment to excellence. The Neil Company Real Estate became affiliated with Century 21 in 2002, and has been full steam ahead ever since. Neil is honored that his company has become the "Top Century 21 Office in Oregon" and has been voted "Best Real Estate Company" by the residents of Douglas County for 18 years in a row.

After being honorably discharged as a Sergeant from the United States Marine Corps in 1967 and graduating from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science in Politics in 1971, Neil and Cathy returned to Douglas County to raise their two children. Currently they are enjoying all of the wonderful activities that this county has to offer with their five grandchildren. Neil is a life member of the Marine Corps League, the VFW, the American Legion, Vietnam Veterans of America, and has served on the Board of Directors of many civic and private organizations. He consistently works on projects to make Roseburg a better place to work and play. Neil and Cathy truly appreciate the amazing community that they call home!
