About Nina
With over 33 years of experience in real estate, Nina Hatvany has represented clients in well over $4 billion dollars in sales transactions. Her in-depth knowledge of all aspects of San Francisco real estate is truly unmatched. From 2008-2015 and again from 2017-2020, Nina has been ranked the top individual agent in San Francisco, and has been recognized in the Wall Street Journal as one of the top 35 sales agents by volume nationwide across all companies for 2009-2015, reaching as high as #9 in that time span.
In 2016, Nina formed Team Hatvany Kitchen with her three adult children, two of whom are attorneys, and one a former New York City real estate agent. Together they represent all property types and price-points in San Francisco; both buyers and sellers of houses, condominiums and apartment buildings. In 2017-2024 Team Hatvany Kitchen was the Top Producing Team in San Francisco! Team Hatvany Kitchen has been named in the top ten of teams in the United States in 2022 by the Wall Street Journal several times (as measured by transaction volume).
Nina is single-minded in her pursuit of her clients’ desires, whether to sell at the best possible price or to buy the perfect home; she makes it her business to get her clients what they want. Her incredible work ethic is complemented by her gracious, even-keeled demeanor and her commitment to exceed expectations in every transaction. Nina’s interest in real estate sales stems from her 30 years in development, building townhouses in Palo Alto, refurbishing and operating apartment buildings and renovating 20+ homes in San Francisco. Along the way, she acquired a contractor’s license. Previously, Nina was a Professor at the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University. She holds an M.A. and Ph.D. from Stanford in Psychology with a Business concentration and is widely recognized as one of the best-trained negotiators in the business.
Nina has resided in San Francisco for 40 years with her husband and has raised their three children in the City. She is active in the community and a board member of the San Francisco Housing Accelerator Fund, an organization dedicated to putting together innovative financing for low- and moderate-income housing projects. She is also an Honorary Board member of Larkin Street Youth Services, an organization that serves homeless youth. Nina is consistently sought out by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and San Francisco Chronicle, among others, for her insight on today's market.
