Peter Cantine

Talk about local! Peter’s first ancestor on these shores, a French Huguenot, settled in New Paltz in 1686. From 1900, his great grandfather was the horse-and-buggy Town doctor of Woodstock--and delivered each of his parents! Peter's grandmother, Jo Cantine, was one of Woodstock's noted 20th Century oil painters.

As a hospitality professional, Peter operated commercial properties in New York City and The Hudson Valley. Hands-on in day-to-day operations, he participated in all phases of property management, planning, financing and governmental approval processes. As a RUPCO-registered landlord, Peter helped provide affordable housing for Woodstock.

Peter’s public service, as a former member of Woodstock’s Town Council and Democratic Committee and past President of the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce & Arts, further qualifies him on the residential and commercial sides of real estate. For the Town of Woodstock, Peter successfully negotiated the acquisition of key real estate and resolved zoning issues. Peter currently serves as a volunteer for the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild.
