Peter Laver

Pete Laver, born in raised in the Commonwealth of Virginia, made the Shenandoah Valley his home after graduating from James Madison University. As a licensed Associate Broker, Pete has had over 15 years of experience in the industry representing home buyers and sellers. Additionally, he has personal experience purchasing, selling, leasing, building (manufactured & custom), and home remodeling & design.

His real estate career began full time in 2003. Experience in both the real estate market “boom” and “recession,” he continued to operate a successful real estate sales business providing the highest level of customer service and professionalism to his clients. In addition to sales, Pete also serves as the Director of Business Development at Funkhouser Real Estate Group assisting, coaching, and training new and veteran associates in the business.

Pete earned a bachelor’s degree in Integrated Science and Technology with a minor in Human Resources Development from James Madison University. He has served in several leadership roles in the local REALTOR Association including four years on the Board of Directors and President in 2016. He was recognized by the local association in 2015 for his involvement in the community and was awarded “REALTOR of the Year” in 2017.

He is currently serving on the board of directors of the Harrisonburg Rockingham United Way and the direct liaison to Build United Advisory Board, a non-profit organization serving homeowners below the poverty level to assist in home repairs and modifications. He has also served as the Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO) leader for five consecutive years and co-directed a project to build a new playground by securing over $80K of donations from the local community.

Other unique facts about Pete; he has worked with clients whose home search aired on the HGTV’s House Hunters in 2012 and in 2016 he raised over $30,000 for the Harrisonburg Rockingham Child Day Care Centers where he competed and won “Dancing with the Stars of The Burg”.

Pete is married to Kyle Laver, owner of CPL Coaching. They currently live in Rockingham County with their four children: Brooks, Owen, Leigha & Derek.
