Growing up, Rick helped to maintain his parents’ rental property. He did much of the handiwork himself, giving him valuable, practical knowledge about how buildings operate, what things can go wrong, and how repairs and maintenance should be performed.

Rick has a bachelor’s in electrical engineering and an MBA with an emphasis on organizational leadership. Rick also has 11 years of experience conducting cost analyses for the U.S. Navy. His education gives him an understanding of the market and economy, while the cost analysis experience gives him an inside track on pricing out comparable, requests for repairs, and developing a complete roadmap to guide negotiations.

When it comes to standing in a house and deciding what needs work, Rick’s repair person knowledge enables him to advise clients on when to hire a professional to perform the work or, if the client might make it a DIY project, his tips can save clients’ money. All the above meshes well with Rick’s core values: demanding work, problem-solving, and clear communication with people of all backgrounds.

When Rick is not advising clients, he spends time traveling with his family and enjoying the outdoors. He organizes trail cleanup events where volunteers sweep through to preserve hiking trails for other enthusiasts. He also raises money for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
