Buying our first home was super straightforward thanks to Rich. After a quick search (we knew what we wanted!), he helped us make a winning offer on a wonderful house in Nyack, without going over our budget. The whole team he connected us with--lender, attorney, inspector, etc.--were all lovely to work with as well. Several years ago I rented a 3 bedroom house in Closter, NJ so that my kids could reap the benefits of a great school system. Within a few months, it was clear that the basement continuously flooded and that the owner has covered mold with paint. My child is asthmatic and eventually got pneumonia in that house. The landlord there was more like a slumlord. The agent I used to rent it (and paid her a full commission) clearly wasn't looking out for my best interest.

Unplanned and with a modest budget for a home purchase, I set my sights on Nyack, NY again for the school district. I met Rich at an open house. He recommend that I see a different home that I fell in love with instantly. I was a first time home buyer. I couldn't have asked for a better partner to guide me through the very confusing process.

Years later, both of my kids graduated moving successfully into colleges at which point I decided to list my house for rent (the house that Rich helped me buy). With absolutely no hesitation, I worked with Rich again. He was able to rent my house very quickly to qualified renters as well as meet some of my niche requests such as furniture storage.

Rich keeps it real while also understanding the challenges of dealing with an often unpredictable journey of home ownership and rentals. When I am ready to sell, buy or rent another home, Rich will absolutely be the person I go to!

I was in the process of selling our family home of 64 years and was referred to Richard by a childhood friend who was a realtor in another state. It was definitely my good fortune as he explained each step and was available and open to questions.
The sale was complicated by a tree falling on the roof during a violent storm while we were under contract. Richard was there to support me during the repair phase. We closed yesterday!

I have worked with Rich several times with my rental properties in Nyack and he has always been able to find a great tenant. Rich does more than just procure the right tenant, he is hands on when the time comes to see what kind of work should be done to enhance the property. He runs recent comparables and is able to give an accurate range in regards to possible rental income.

If you are looking for a 5 Star Real Estate agent, look no further. Rich is just that! He is so knowledgeable. He was always ready and willing to answer my questions, which were many, in a timely informative manner. He held my hand throughout the process of selling my aunts house. My partner and I found Rich online and reached out for help finding the right home in Rockland County. Rich specializes in this area and jumped into action quickly.

From the beginning, Rich was extremely honest. We were first time home buyers and he was patient with us and also very direct about the process and what to expect. He was clear-eyed about the market as well and helped us put in a strategic offer that was competitive and not excessive.

Rich had a useful network of contacts for us including attorneys, inspectors, contractors, chimney specialists, tax assessors, and more. We had a great experience with all of the people he connected us with.

Two other things to call out: he is super responsive via text or call. Also (and this was huge as first time buyers) he helped us avoid risk in multiple phases of closing. We would definitely work with him again.

I wanted to take the time to thank, Rich Herska at Christie's for doing a spectacular job selling my home in North Rockland that went well above asking price. Originally, I reached out to him as I started new job and didn't have time to look for renters to lease my apartment on the bottom of my Hi Ranch. He loved what he saw but he asked if I considered selling without being pushy and not having the best of luck the first time around, we were a little hesitant but took the leap of faith with Rich. I have to say it was the BEST DECISION! Rich not only has a proven track record but he listens to your wants and needs, coaches you throughout the process, follows up, intuitive in an environment on whom is the decisionmaker but being inclusive at the same time, extremely professional and supportive, and accessible with NY hustle pace. You have direct access to him not some assistant that most real estate agents throw on you. He treats you like family and not a number. Real estate can be extremely nerve racking dealing in meeting timelines and frustration of uplifting your life while juggling work and family but he has a gift of deflating a tense situation with his empathy and witty sense of humor. A large part of the reason I handpicked Rich was his relationships with his colleagues and family members especially his beloved Grandma Sophia and I'm huge advocate of the LGBT community whom had to overcome strenuous adversity and take pride and fiercely love and protect their loved ones. I love and appreciate his honesty even if its not what you want to hear. He not only negotiated multiple bids but I was impressed when my house didn't pass inspection due to missing railings meanwhile when I purchased this home there were no railings (UGH!) but he negotiated for the buyer to pay for it and was done in record time to speed along the clearance to close. A native of Rockland, he knows and is apart of the community well and is a household name at almost every restaurant in Rockland. I highly recommend him for all your real estate needs. I've been shopping for my next home for several years and also shopping for another property for a family member. It's no exaggeration to say I've been to hundreds of open houses. Every open house is an opportunity to meet and interview a real-estate agent that you could work with in the future. When the time came to sell my house I had a very large stack of business cards to choose from and Richard's was on top. He did an excellent job of selling my house at it's full financial potential.
