Russell Smith

Russell (Russ) Smith was born in 1952 in Cleveland, OH. He graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in January 1976 with a BGS in Art and Business. Shortly thereafter he relocated to Durango CO and began Animas Painting and Decorating, a painting and finishing company.

In 1983, Russ obtained his real estate license and began purchasing single family and income properties. In 1989 Russ began a full-time career in real estate and began working with Prudential Triple S Realty with many national award honors.

In 2011, the company transitioned into a Keller Williams office. Russ has worked all aspects of construction and understands the components from excavation and infrastructure through final design. With Animas Painting and Decorating Russ, was involved in some of the largest commercial projects in the area including Tamarron, Purgatory Village, Cascade Village, Silverpick, Fort Lewis College and Hillcrest Estates. Russ was also a developer for Elkton Townhomes, Sage Hill Townhomes and 8th Avenue Lofts. Russ is currently managing the sales team for Twin Buttes Subdivision.
