I have lived in Johnston County all of my life. I am very familiar with Wayne, Wake, & Harnett Counties also. It is an advantage to work in an area that you grew up in because you are familiar with all of the progress that has transpired over the years. Over the years Clayton has really expanded and become a central location for homeowners to live. Tax rates are dependent of area, excellent quality schools, and convenient to many cities & towns for shopping and restaurants. The 40/42 area has expanded also. There are many advantages to living on the West side of Clayton also. Major highways such as I-40 & Hwy 264 Bypass make travel to Raleigh very convenient in either area. Johnston County offers a lot of potential & affordable homes, Fuquay Varina (in Wake County) has really expanded also. New Construction and resales gives potential buyers many choices in price ranges, acreage and travel location.
