About Scott
Integrity, honesty, and commitment serve as the foundation for the Bedrock Real Estate Group. These core principles are defining values of Agent and Broker, Scott Butler. For over a decade, Scott has successfully closed deals for everyone — from first-time homebuyers to savvy investors, to sellers at all different price points.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Scott received his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College, a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University, and completed the Certificate Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. Prior to his work in real estate, he enjoyed a rewarding and diverse career that included teaching English in Japan, as well as positions with Fortune 500 companies, including American Express and Xerox.
Scott’s sense of civic responsibility stems from his thirteen distinguished years as a member of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and four years as Police Captain for another Southern California Law Enforcement Agency. His work also included time as a detective and spokesman for the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau, where he was responsible for disseminating breaking news on department matters, cases, and public safety issues to local, national, and international TV and radio.
His various life experiences and interactions with different people, languages, and cultures have provided him with a unique global perspective that serves his client’s needs. Locally, working with people across the city enriched Scott’s knowledge and appreciation of the many neighborhoods that make up Los Angeles. Synthesized, these unique insights served as an added benefit to Scott when he transitioned to real estate. He works with buyers and sellers all across the Southland — from Pasadena to Venice Beach and everywhere in between — while expanding his expertise as a licensed general contractor.
After successfully negotiating transactions in the Southland, Scott was formerly recognized with a position on the Greater Los Angeles Association of Realtors (GLAAR) Arbitration and Grievance Board. Presently, Scott takes great enjoyment out of sharing his knowledge as an adjunct instructor for California Realty Trainers, while continuing to serve the needs of each and every client. In his free time, Scott enjoys backyard BBQs with friends and jamming out to old-school hip-hop.
