Sharon E. Baum joined the firm in 1991 and is one of Corcoran’s top agents. A specialist in high-end properties, Ms. Baum has brokered the sale of some two billion dollars of luxury townhouses and apartments in many of New York’s most exclusive buildings. In 2011 she received the residential real estate industry’s highest honor. The Real Estate Board of New York presented her with the Henry Forster Award for her outstanding record of achievements and for having displayed character and conduct that has brought credit to the profession. “Her extraordinary body of work has helped to shape the very landscape of residential real estate as we know it today.” Ms. Baum is only the second individual agent to receive this award, as it is generally awarded to the head of a firm. In addition, she is the only agent to be honored twice as the recipient of REBNY’s “Deal of the Year” award. Before entering the real estate field, Ms. Baum was at Chemical Bank for 17 years where she was Chemical’s first female Vice President. Prior to that, she was director of the women’s market for Pan American Airways and director of the youth market for Eastern Airlines. A graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, Ms. Baum received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1965, one of seven women in its first coed graduating class. She is a member of the Madison Square Boys’ and Girls’ Club Women’s Board, an Associate fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine, a Director of The Harvard Business School Club of New York, and a former trustee of the Mannes College of Music and of The Episcopal School. She is married to Stephen H. Baum, and is the mother of two sons, Ben and Sam, graduates of Princeton, Harvard and Harvard Law School.
