About Sheila

Sheila Coleman is a native of Chesterfield County, Virginia, where she graduated from Monacan High School. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University and earned her B.A. from the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs.

Growing up in a real estate household, her mother Carol Bynum being the founding Principal Broker of VA Choice Real Estate, Sheila obtained her real estate license in April 2003. Initially, she worked as an office assistant and transaction coordinator in a real estate office. Later on, she expanded her real estate experience into construction and established J.C. Bynum Construction, a Class A construction company headquartered in Chesterfield County, Virginia.

Sheila has been a vocal advocate for affordable housing and is passionate about sustainable communities. As a result, she partnered with the City of Petersburg on a revitalization project to build affordable housing. She has also teamed up with several grant programs to provide buyers with access to grant funding to help with their down payment and closing costs.
