About Susan
While fairly young in terms of years since its launch, the history and inspiration behind SUSAN Q. WEBSTER dates all the way back to 1998 when she launched her first business at the age of 24. There’s a very good reason Susan Q. Webster is coined an Inspirational Business Navigator and excels in all she sets out to accomplish. Being an inspirational speaker, entrepreneur, Realtor, CEO and helping others navigate their way into entrepreneurship is all second nature to her.
This third-generation businesswoman comes from a long line of craftsmen and entrepreneurs who taught her the value of hard work and imbued her with the sense that it isn’t enough to merely do business, but to strive to do it better than anyone else. As a young girl, she would accompany her Father into board meeting and observe him negotiating deals and running a number of businesses, all with chartered success. She loved spending time with her father, yet she also enjoyed seeing things being built from the ground up.
Susan has always been recognized as an overachiever. After skipping the 11th grade and graduating from High School at the age of 16, Susan was groomed by her family to be an entrepreneur. She was taught by her Mom, Dad, Grandparents and older siblings the importance of “measure twice, cut once” so she started honing her skill as a perfectionist. In all of the years since, her attention-to-detail and commitment to owner satisfaction have been integral to her success in real estate, construction, acquisitions and business in general.
Susan acquired a B.A. in Business Administration with an area of concentration in Marketing from Trinity College prior to opening Locs Hair Studio, a star-studded salon with 13 stylists in upper NW Washington, DC. Susan maintained this business for 10 years with the same staff, which speaks to her interpersonal and management skills. She went in gutted out the commercial property, negotiated her lease agreement and maintained a thriving business until she decided to sell for profit and go into Real Estate and Construction with her family members.
In 2006, Susan became a licensed Realtor in both DC and MD and has since bought, sold, built and developed thousands of both Commercial and Residential properties. The idea of assisting people in obtaining the American Dream of becoming a homeowner is major to her. While closing Real Estate deals, Susan has managed to build, open, design, and sell for profit a plethora of businesses. Franchises such as Rita’s Italian Ice, MO Russ Seafood and Crab House, 714 Entertainment Group and ARMJ Properties Inc.
In 2017 she followed in the footsteps of her Father, by opening a General Contracting company, Sterling LLC. Susan named Sterling after her Father Robert L. Quinichett’s company, Sterling Systems Inc. Susan was blessed to have success all around her as a child. Being raised in a home with a mother who held a Masters in Music from Capitol University and played with celebrities like the late Nancy Wilson and a father who grew his business into a major conglomerate with several locations over the United States in just 5 years.
Due to her background Susan has an artistic side like her mother the late Jane E. Quinichett and like her father she loves to build. As a native Washingtonian, Susan enjoys giving back to the community in both DC and MD through mentoring, assisting fellow entrepreneurs with navigating their way in business and ultimately watching them reach their goals. It is paramount to her that she leaves a legacy for her son Jacob Alan Lee.
