Tayona Tate

I’m Tayona Tate, Broker and Owner of NextHome Yourpickettfence Group, where I’ve had the privilege of helping people find their place in Northern Nevada since 2000. Real estate has always been more than a career for me — it’s a calling. I believe homeownership is something everyone deserves, and with the right guidance, it’s possible for anyone.

As a lifelong Nevadan, I bought my first home at 21 and quickly learned the power of real estate to transform lives and build generational wealth. Over the years, I’ve served my community as a property manager, Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP), and Short Sales & Foreclosure Resource (SFR). Each of these experiences has deepened my knowledge and strengthened my ability to guide clients through every phase of their real estate journey — from first homes to investment portfolios and relocation moves.

My expertise spans Reno, Sparks, Carson City, and Lake Tahoe, and I especially love introducing people to the vibrant energy of Midtown Reno and the timeless charm of historic South Reno homes. My clients describe me as approachable, resourceful, and fiercely dedicated — qualities that reflect how seriously I take being trusted with one of life’s biggest decisions.

What I cherish most about this work is connection. My clients often become friends and extended family. I take great joy in hosting housewarming celebrations, connecting them to local small businesses, and welcoming them back year after year for client appreciation events. For me, success is measured not only in closed transactions, but in lifelong relationships and the happiness of the people I serve.

Outside of real estate, I’m a proud mother of three, supported by an amazing partner who shares in my ambitions and adventures. I’ve completed the Nike Women’s Half Marathon in San Francisco, run the 178-mile Reno-Tahoe Odyssey, and even fulfilled a lifelong dream of visiting Cuba. Music fuels my soul — from rap to grunge to jazz — and giving back grounds me. I’m honored to serve on the board of the For Kids Foundation, helping local children access the care and opportunities they deserve.

Every chapter of my life — from that first home purchase to leading my own brokerage — has taught me the same truth: when we lead with integrity, community, and heart, everything else follows. That’s what being a NextHomie is all about — honoring and dignifying every person we serve.
