About Tom
om has spent the last eight years in the real estate industry previously as a mortgage banker and now as a Realtor. With a background in banking and lending, he has not only learned the importance of organization and time management but also what all “the numbers” mean for clients.
Making the switch from the banking industry to real estate came after a home renovation project. He discovered how fun it was to bring an old house back to life. Intrigued by it all, he learned what he could about the construction and design of homes. He took it one step further matching this new knowledge with his mortgage and lending background becoming a realtor in 2016.
Now as a realtor, Tom studies the area trends. With the city’s real estate market expanding by the day, he is well aware that new construction dominates every corner of the city, yet affordable housing has become a concern affecting some buyers. Tom listens. He makes a point to understand the goals and concerns of his clients. Their trust is his number one priority. Clients will find him to be helpful, approachable and a motivated individual who really cares. With Tom, along with the Sweeter team and the Ameristar network, clients can be assured that their home buying journey will be nothing short of positive.
Lifelong Resident
Tom has always called Sioux Falls home. He attended Lincoln High school where played football then went on to Augustana earning a degree in Business Administration. At Augie he was a student athlete playing football and holds the school record for passing. Over the years he has observed the growth of the city’s metro market. Small communities surrounding Sioux Falls matter. He is keenly aware they are an important piece of the ‘bigger picture’ in real estate options.
Outside of the Real Estate World
An important piece of Tom’s life is giving back. His focus is kids. He is a board member of the YMCA Tri-State Basketball Tournament committee and has coached youth football with South Dakota Junior Football. He has also volunteered as a patient companion with Sanford Children’s hospital.
In his free time, Tom enjoys gardening; he partners with his brother as freelance landscape designer. He also enjoys home renovations, exercise, watching ball, taking an occasional yoga class and being with friends and family.
