With over 40 years of professional experience managing real estate, investments, and assets; fundraising, strategic business planning, and leadership, Tony J. Higley’s career has stretched from residential realtor to certified appraiser, small business owner, and executive director of a multimillion-dollar non-profit foundation.
As a lifetime resident of Spokane, Higley has been deeply committed to the community, and to helping those in the area achieve their greatest potential. When he graduated from Gonzaga University, in 1976, his mentor and good friend, then-head basketball coach Dan Fitzgerald, gave him life-impacting advice, telling him, “You’ve got to do three things in life, Tony: give back to your school, give back to your community and give back to your profession.”
So began a lifetime commitment to helping his community, by volunteering with a variety of local community organizations. He started the still-in-existence Bulldog Club, where he served as president, as well as serving on various boards and foundations, including Central Valley School District Boards and Fundraising Committees, Gonzaga University Dean’s Business Forum Advisory Board, the Foundation Board of Community Colleges of Spokane, the Inland Northwest Planned Giving Council, and Associated Industries Board of Directors.
Whether it is through his professional endeavors or volunteer experiences, Higley’s passion is giving back to the community that has given so much to him.
