Vanessa Kitchen

Vanessa Kitchen is a dynamic real estate professional dedicated to delivering the best possible service to her clients. With eleven years of experience in real estate, she brings a wealth of knowledge, a keen eye and an analytical strategy to each transaction. A native of San Francisco, Vanessa moved from Manhattan in 2016 back to her hometown to join her family and form Team Hatvany at Compass, which was ranked the #1 Real Estate Team in San Francisco in 2017-2021! Previously, Vanessa worked for over seven years in New York City as a licensed real estate agent with Douglas Elliman, building a thriving luxury residential sales business. She served as Board President of her condominium association and frequently worked as a project manager to her international clients to manage construction and rentals of investment properties.
Vanessa is a longtime real estate investor, with several multi-family investments across San Francisco. She currently owns and operates an apartment building in the Marina district, providing her with an acute understanding of how to efficiently develop multi-unit properties into successful income-producing and appreciating assets. An avid remodeler, she has been involved in multiple renovation projects, including her Manhattan condominium and most recently, two San Francisco properties on the north side of town, and enjoys consulting for her clients on renovation with future resale in mind.
Vanessa previously worked in journalism, public relations and marketing for large firms in New York, and brings this experience to Team Hatvany to spearhead all marketing initiatives. Vanessa holds a B.A. in Psychology from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, and an M.A. in Journalism from New York University. She is an active volunteer with the San Francisco Junior League and enjoys hiking all over the Bay Area. She lives in the Marina with her husband and their new baby boy.
