Northwest Santa Rosa
Coffey Park offers brand new homes
The center of town has a densely packed, suburban feel, while heading west, the neighborhood takes on a more rural vibe, with properties spaced farther apart on larger lots. Ranch-style homes from the 1970s and contemporary farmhouses from the late ‘80s-early ‘90s typically go for around $650,000 when set on mid-size lots; those set on lots of a half-acre or more go for upwards of $750,000. In Coffey Park, a western subdivision of sapling-planted cul-de-sacs that was completely rebuilt after the Tubbs Fire of 2017, contemporary Craftsman-style homes from the 2020s range from $800,000 to $900,000. The central Lincoln Manor is one of Santa Rosa's most affordable subdivisions, with single-family homes averaging $350,000; near the central Bicentennial Park, mobile homes and condos go for about $250,000. As of Spring 2024, homes in Northwest Santa Rosa average $715,000, a price bump of 4% from Spring 2023.Special programs for Piner High students

Located across the street from Piner High, the dog-friendly Youth Community Park on Fulton Road spans 74 acres, complete with a skatepark and horseshoe pits. The 35-acre Northwest Community Park offers a bike pump track (a track that requires no pedaling or pushing), as well as picnic tables and a playground surrounded by pines and redwoods.Kids love the Children's Museum of Sonoma County for its interactive exhibits like Mary’s Garden, Ella’s Art Studio and the Science & Imagination gallery. Beloved annual events here include the Halloween-themed Funtazmagoria, when the museum becomes a glow-in-the-dark mad scientist lab; and The Great Train Days, when model railroad enthusiasts create a sprawling outdoor set for kids to explore. Another family-friendly museum is the Charles M. Schulz, dedicated to the Peanuts comic creator who lived in Santa Rosa from 1969 until his death in 2000. The museum features a 100-seat theater playing Charlie Brown TV specials, and life-size statues of Peanuts characters in the backyard garden. For more Snoopy-themed activities, the indoor Redwood Empire Ice Arena (also known as Snoopy’s Home Ice) has been a beloved community hub since it was opened by the Schulz in 1969, offering public skating and junior hockey.

For lunch or dinner, the fast-casual spot Simply Vietnam on Cleveland Avenue serves up hot pho and fresh spring rolls in a cozy setting, while Piner Café offers homemade comfort food. Head to Vintner’s Resort spa hotel on Barnes Road for a classy date night or luxury staycation amid a vineyard. Other local wineries include Carol Shelton Wines on Coffey Lane, known for spicy zinfandels and zingy blends, and Battaglini Estate, a family-owned winery with some of the oldest Zinfandel and Petite Sirah vines in the county.Head to the big city on the 101
