Acalanes is lowkey rich, and it's super well funded, but to be honest the community can be pretty exclusionary, especially if you haven't lived here your whole life.

Wanna have your kid profiled, singled out and abused by staff? Acalanes is for you. Kids who are "different" get pulled out of class and put in "special class" where they're singled out as a potential threat. If you're even slightly different, they will single you out, profile you, and treat you like a pariah.

I have truly loved my time at Acalanes. As a young freshman, I was quite shy and reserved, but with some truly amazing teachers helping me along the way, I learned to be more outgoing and to get involved.

School is extremely over-rated. It’s mainly all white rich kids that drive to school in brand new cars and wear $$$ clothes. If you’re not white you’re going to struggle to fit in. Teachers aren’t exceptional. The school itself is falling apart.
