One of the oldest schools in New Mexico, San Felipe de Neri Catholic School has fostered a welcoming, family-centered environment for more than 200 years. The San Felipe de Neri community became active in formal education in 1770, when the parish house dedicated space for classrooms. In 1881, with support from Bernalillo County, the parish welcomed students to the first free school in Albuquerque.
Since then, San Felipe de Neri has educated multiple generations of families. Today, it serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, emphasizing both academic rigor and a sense of belonging while ranking high in student body diversity.
With approximately 200 students, San Felipe’s classes are small, and students receive social and emotional support from a friendly staff. The curriculum includes Spanish language education and technology education. Tuition assistance is available, and before- and after-school care helps busy families.
San Felipe de Neri is affiliated with the San Felipe de Neri Church, an iconic structure at the heart of Albuquerque’s Old Town. Students actively take part in the neighborhood’s cultural life, such as assembling luminarias for the annual Holiday Stroll. Each spring, graduates parade through Old Town Plaza, celebrating their achievements while sustaining the centuries-old tradition that is San Felipe de Neri.

I ended up pulling out my daughter out the school bc of ongoing issues with bullying from teachers and classmates. Given the benefit of the doubt of Cheryl being a new principle to San Felipe. She has continued to show no concern in issues that arise. Very unreceptive and has an untouchable attitude.
