This public school, located just north of Vermont Avenue in the heart of South Anaheim, serves approximately 600 students from pre-kindergarten through the sixth grade. Olive Street Elementary School is a member of the Anaheim Elementary School District.
As part of its core curriculum, Olive Street Elementary places a particular emphasis on critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and communication skills. The school also works hard to ensure that students’ social and emotional well being is being cared for as well. There are a number of district-sponsored programs at Olive Street Elementary, including a unique Dual Language Immersion program in Spanish and English. Beginning in kindergarten, students are taught using a model that will enable them to think, read, write and communicate naturally in both Spanish and English. Classes are mixed with students who are both native English and native Spanish speakers.
The school also offers a Gifted and Talented Education Program (GATE) that is designed to meet the academic needs of exceptionally promising students in grades three through six. Olive Street Elementary also has a Parent and Family Engagement Policy that helps to facilitate and ensure that parents and caregivers play an active role in their student’s education.
Olive Street Elementary hosts an award-winning, YMCA after school program, known as Anaheim Achieves, that provides a variety of fun and engaging activities that help to reinforce the curriculum being taught to students during the school day.

The teachers are so dedicated at this school. They really care about the students. The parents do not get involved enough. Leadership at the school is great also as is the office staff. Overall an excellent school. Test scored do not serve this school justice.
