Bret Harte has gone from a very small student population, to a a larger population over my time there. Even with the growing student population, the staff is still able to maintain a family vibe. Every teacher connects with the students, and works hard to make sure everyone is staying safe. They recently have brought on a campus cop, which makes all of us feel much more secure.

Bret Harte Union High School is a safe, lax high school in its area. The teachers deeply care for their students and the community is wonderful.

Very few AP science classes and no AP math classes, no computer science opportunities, no AP Music Theory, in general very little support for higher learning. If you're an average or below student, the school is good. If you are interested in higher learning, look elsewhere.
