GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The focus on the school needs to be on all students, not just the athletes or well known people of the town. Resources were not easily accessible to all students, especially when seeking help with college preparation.

There are many positive attributes, but the school as a whole need to do better and be better. The administration rarely acknowledges student concerns, and only seems to care for specific groups of students

I have to start calling 3 weeks out and just show up to get assistance from them. When you show up you are asked if...

Mcminn is just like any other public school, but Meigs county is a lot worse. They don't put you in the classes you need and all the popular kids get away with a whole lot of things. The "in" crowd gets treated better than anything. Mcminn is a little better with the classes. As for the teachers, th...

As a former student, I can honestly say that McMinn could be a lot worse. The teachers, with the exception of the science department, are generally not good. The higher-level classes in the science department are pretty good, and have prepared me well for my pre-medical studies. Athletics are only o...
