GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The bathrooms always look like they haven't been tended to in years. The teachers are okay, but a lot of them are corrupt. Students have started to go to class, which shows a change in last years seniors vs the c/o 2024 seniors

Frederick Douglass, in my 4 years of being there, was frustrating but interesting. I can't say it was good nor can i say it was bad. To be recognized, to go on "field trips", to have any type of surreal memory was a slight to no chance of happening. Unless you're apart of the top 10%, you MORE THAN LIKELY won't be going anywhere to make any good memories but the to the front lawn of the school. Don't get me wrong, the lawn parties were fun...but it's a memory you'd probably forget. Pep rally's rarely happened even when COVID died down a bit. Maybe just for my school year, it could get better. BUT somehow now it's all over, it feels weird now that i'm not bothered by it.

Frederick Douglass High wasn't the very best high school. I think that they need to expand their opportunities for students and actually try to connect with students instead of just caring because they get paid to do it! I think that they need to actually teach students how to survive in the real world and how to work on your credit!

I graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in 1982. I am a very active alumnus. The school still has so much to offer for the current students.

I went to Douglas back in the early 80's and it was very well structured. We had great teachers that did play, the principals were like our Fathers. But we had a lot of fun, pep rally's, we did musicals and we just had nice clean fun. Being in High School back then was fun and very educational. A lo...

Yes, I agree with most of the comments. Douglass truly staring falling ince Mr. Brown became the Principal. We went to the board and Dr. Augustine last year regarding him and they would not listen. We will now select a new Prinicipal and we all have to support in bringing the school back to order. P...

Seriously, the principal hit lucky on a million dollars and decided that he was going to leave. Although Mr. J. Austin-Brown wasn't doing so great in the leadership department he still had a role as the principal of a school that isn't getting great reviews. Since I was in Douglass the school was un...
