The mission statement of Anchor Academy Elementary School focuses on creating a learning environment that promotes daily educational excellence. This public school educates approximately 300 students in voluntary prekindergarten through fifth grade, in the cozy coastal North Beach community.
The school sits on the east coast of Jacksonville along Wonderwood Drive, south of the Naval Station Mayport, one of Jacksonville's military bases. A yellow anchor is displayed next to a flagpole on the front lawn honoring the area's nautical and military history. Based on its proximity to Naval Station Mayport, Anchor Academy serves a large number of military families, and members of faculty have military backgrounds.
Anchor Academy students experience more than the sunshine state standards and conventional blended learning strategies.
The academy's high performance could be attributed to its positive behavior incentive programs, rewarding students weekly and monthly. The Anchored for Life program assists and encourages resiliency in new students and children with military deployed parents.
Engaging extracurriculars like Lego robotics, decorative pastry club and gardening club will excite students to stay after school. During the day, students are sometimes even treated to classroom readings by Naval Station Mayport sailors.

Great teachers who care about the kids. Principal Collier is easy to get in touch with and is a great leader. The school itself is older, but the people there are a family to everyone.
