The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
The Test Score Rating reflects annual state test results for this school compared with scores statewide.

Great school. My children come home crying everyday. They hate the food so much they say it is inedible.

I've gone to Mesabi East throughout all of my school-years. The teachers are all best friends and actually CARE about their students. I've never witnessed a fight their nor violence of any sort. The teachers are crazy in the best way, and it may be a little smaller, but that fact has led me to get to know everyone in my grade. Now, nearly all of my classmates are my friends. The things I'd complain about would have to be the lack of punishment towards offenders of the rules and the lack of programs for people interested in the arts. I just wish we had the art club back. :( We haven't even done a musical in years. Overall, I love Mesabi East. I grew up there, and it has helped shape who I am today.

I have had a pretty good experience at Mesabi East. I love the people in my grade and it has been a lot of fun over. When it comes to academics, they are pretty good. There are some teachers that I would change because they are not the best at the subjects they teach. The sports teams are not good, which is kind of sad. It is a very nice school though. Our guidance counselor has not helped us seniors whatsoever in getting ready for the ACT or college. We have had to do everything on our own, which is pretty rough when you do not know what you are doing. Besides some of the rough aspects, I really do like my school and the people in it.
I am a student who goes to this school, and I have not enjoyed going to this school. There is consistent sexism, racism, and homophobia in this school and it's not just the students.
This school was not a good place to attend. Favoritism took place everywhere. Many teachers were not willing to help you with your school work or social issues. The students were extremely rude and disrespectful. Sports always seemed to be placed above academics or other things that actually matter....
