Established in 1980, Austin Waldorf School is a fully accredited member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and serves more than 380 students from prekindergarten through12th grade. The curriculum, based on the Waldorf educational method, is designed to meet each stage of each student’s development, from early childhood into young adulthood. Class sizes are small, and lesson plans are crafted to meet the needs and interests of each student. The campus is located on 19 beautiful acres in the Clarksville neighborhood and students spend a lot of time working in and studying nature. A great deal of emphasis is placed on providing a whole-child education at Austin Waldorf School, weaving artistic and creative thinking into academic and practical courses. Students are taught two foreign languages as well as music, handwork, woodwork, blacksmithing, fine arts and drama. Austin Waldorf students compete in a variety of sports, including volleyball, cross country, basketball, tennis and golf. Students are closely involved in the larger community, participating in service projects and work experience programs, all geared toward fostering a sense of responsibility outside the classroom.

We have absolutely loved our time with our three daughters at the Austin Waldorf School. Coming from a small charter school, we weren't completely familiar with everything three years ago - but our decision to relocate the girls and become members of this community has been one of the best we've ever made for them.

Very lovely small private school in Austin. The teachers are fantastic, and I enjoy the classes they teach. The environment is sheltered and safe. The school campus is very nice, with most classes being based in small buildings on a sprawling nature-filled landscape.

We moved to Austin to be at AWS. I have three children at Austin Waldorf School in grades 2,6, and 9. As a family that is dedicated to Waldorf Education, it is important that my children are in one of the top Waldorf Schools in the country. I know that my children are getting a top notch education and are not only being prepared for college, but prepared for life.
