St. Ignatius Martyr School is a coeducational Catholic school in south Austin. First opened in 1940, St. Ignatius offers a strong academic program and a variety of extracurricular and co-curricular activities to students from prekindergarten through eighth grade.
Classes are small and the learning environment is based on a strong Catholic identity. Faculty and administration strive to develop students’ academic potential and spiritual enrichment. Academic enrichment courses include art, P.E., music, Spanish, technology and a faith-based virtues program.
The close-knit school community promotes several events and fundraisers such as a fall festival, Halloween carnival and annual BobCat Fun Run. Students and parents are involved in campus cleanups at the beginning of each school year. Parents are required to participate in service activities through the Diocese of Austin.
St. Ignatius offers a variety of sports teams for both boys and girls. Student clubs include chess, community service, choir, math, yearbook and robotics.

We have been at STIM for 3 yrs now and have children on both ends of the learning spectrum. Great Community. They are doing their best to accommodate all of the needs of the children. Additional resources from the Diocese on this front would be my only add'l request.

St. Ignatius Catholic School is a very special place in the heart of 78704. An amazing, faith-based environment that my children love and adore. There are so many aspects of St. Ignatius school that include community, parent involvement, rigorous curriculum, school safety, and so much more.
