GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

It's a very small community which has its pros and cons. On one hand there's a lot of community events and activities to get into. However, on the other hand the school itself has a lot of cliques and bullying is a big issue. I had some of the worst times and some great times in that school. It's a very conservative town so if you're not conservative that can make the experience at high school really hard but if you have conservative views then you'll probably like it more. Ultimately there's a lot of great improvements that have been made but I would never step foot in there again.

My experience at becker high school has been very positive and up lifting. The staff and students are great. The only thing I would change is the amount of homework we get. It's hard as an athlete trying to balance it all.

Do not move your daughter to this school if she is into basketball. The coaches will not give her any play time no matter what. Do not be fooled by the "Positive coaching alliance" this is not actually practiced at this school, they only advertise that they follow these principles.

This school makes me feel safe and gives a great education. The staff is friendly, classes are fun, and it's overall a really great school. The iPad 1:1 program is a bonus, too, because every kid that goes to the Senior High School gets an ipad for their whole high school endeavor.
