I have a 4th grader and a 1st grader at NDE and I think the best "Yelp review" a kid can give is that he wants to be here for middle school :) Middle school is not an easy time in life and knowing that these boys will have stability in their social circle and everyday environment through that period is key. But to the present... NDE is an academically rigorous school that stresses the importance of strong values in life rooted in learning, family and community. My husband is not religious(i.e. an atheist) and is deeply appreciative of what NDE offers. Importantly, they teach to the level that a child is at. My older son now has time management skills to boot :) There has been a recent change in administration so the back office is running a lot more smoothly this year and energetic (and knowledgeable) staff have been added to bring more to electives (e.g. musical instruments) and enrichment (e.g. maker space) in extended care programs. Rolling admissions if space is available.

I am a alumni of NDE, and I can say with absolute certainty the school is absolutely horrible. of my 3 years, there-about 4 teachers left leaving moments in time where there were no classes of Spanish, English, and science, even as long as months without instruction. From a student's perspective, I would never recommend this school. The school is also extremely sexist towards men as well as teachers pick and humiliate those who do not do well in the middle of class, as in 7th grade I was one of them. i saw this happen while I was in 8th grade, happening to students from my grade and lower. as a student, I would be wary of the school and would not recommend it.
