GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Being a large high school, there are people and clubs there for everyone. The administration and teachers are both very good. Sitting in Downtown Berkeley, and with open campus lunch, there are great food options there. Also, BHS's culture is great.

Berkeley High School is really inclusive of others and provides a unique learning space. The best parts of Berkeley High are the campus scene, rigorous academics, and lively culture. The facilities and bathrooms could be improved. I would also like to see the diversity in classrooms more often than not.

The school makes it really hard to receive accommodations for disabilities and its basically 100% up to you to make sure your teachers actually give you your accommodations once you actually get them

There were constant issues with bullying and hazing that were not addressed by the administration. Kids were worried that older students would throw eggs at them or beat them up because it was a specific day (there apparently are days when upperclass students torment, chase down, and beat up the und...

If you’re interested in a Wolk environment, that places social issues above education, this is the place for you. It caters to the lowest common denominator at the expense of serious students. If you’re a self-starter and seriously motivated student, you might survive. It can offer a quality educati...
