Since the late 1800s, Bon Air Elementary school has welcomed students into the classroom from different locations in Bon Air. Today, the public school sits in the heart of Bon Air Village on Polk Street, serving over 600 students in pre-K through fifth grade.
Bon Air Elementary is the home of the Eagles, and teachers say their students soar like the mascot. Traditional math, science and reading classes are taught, along with technology, art, and physical education.
The technology classes are focused on information management, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Physical education classes include exercise, in addition to teaching students how to make healthy lifestyle choices in and out of school. Open-air ball fields and an all-inclusive playground surround the school, where students can enjoy gym and recess outside when the weather is nice.
Bon Air Elementary embraces an inclusive culture in which teams are dedicated to educating students through the Individualized Education Program while providing classes for gifted and talented students.
Cultivating a culture of care and responsibility, the school relies on its staff, teachers and parents to help shape every student’s experience while attending Bon Air Elementary.
