Positives: The community and support we received from the families in the elementary school blew us away. Being new to the area we felt very grateful. The specials are great. Especially art and music. Negatives: Negatively there is a worrying amount of entitlement and not taking responsibility for actions. Our concerns taken to leadership were met with defensiveness and a lack of a plan. The curriculum is not what we signed up for and is being rolled out without enough information given to parents or any opportunity to object to the change. We've since moved to a bvsd school and have been beyond happy with the standard of education we are receiving without the large cost. While at BCD it feels like you're being asked for money every 5 minutes.

My child's therapist said he had PTSD like symptoms after attending BCD. It's not a great school for anyone who doesn't fit in. To give you an idea what "fit in" means in this context - our child's kindergarten teacher told us over half of his kindergarten class was medicated for ADHD and the administration seemed to strongly be pushing us in that direction

Our son attends Middle School in his third year at BCD. Academically he is engaged and enjoying the curriculum. All the teachers and advisors are totally committed to overing the best possible learning environment and materials. The course offerings and the special elective courses in Middle School are the best we've seen anywhere. Our daughter will be attending kindergarten next year - need we say more.
