Brooklyn Laboratory Charter School was founded in 2013 by Erin Mote and Eric Tucker with the purpose of eliminating the achievement gap and giving students the foundation and leadership skills to thrive in college and the professional world. Commonly referred to as Brooklyn LAB, the school is located in Downtown Brooklyn off of Sands Street, and it serves around 514 students in sixth through 12th grade.
Brooklyn Laboratory Charter School places emphasis on providing quality education to all students regardless of their needs, academic level or English proficiency. Its after-school program, called InnovateEDU, makes the school an attractive option for parents who want to give their middle school students extra exposure to STEM, literacy and athletics. Additionally, Brooklyn Lab students can compete across a variety of endeavors, such as debate and robotics, and are given the opportunity to film and produce their own theatrical and filmed works.

Brooklyn Lab Charter School has exceeded my expectations. They provide 1:1 and small group tutoring, which has greatly benefited my child's education. The college-ready culture they create is evident through the rigorous academics, wide range of clubs, and advanced placement classes they offer.

Just incompetent staff throughout the entire school. Not timely in sending out notices; they wait until the last minute. They don’t respond to emails right away. Always some nonsense with these people. My son is a senior and I’m GLAD he’s leaving.
