For over 50 years, Brookview Elementary School has provided public education to kindergarten through fifth-grade students. Located in the Southside Estates neighborhood, the large school commits to equipping students with the proper tools for achievement. The school's academic curriculum and quality extracurricular activities encourage the development of mental, physical, and social skills. Brookview offers a free after-school arts program to enrolled students interested in creative expression. The Cathedral Arts Project's Chorus group is displayed often on the school's active social media. The school stays connected to the community through its social media, frequently engaging with followers and providing announcements of events and closures. According to state testing measures, the school's academic performance does not exceed nearby institutions. However, student-to-teacher ratios are similar to the district average, and attendance has remained steady for decades. Accessible from Theresa Drive, the elementary sits just north of the Brookview Playground, a public space that students and residents enjoy. Similar to the many Jacksonville schoolhouses built in the 1960s, the building is a long-standing staple that welcomes the young learners of Southside Estates.

The first day I took my son to his classroom, I explained to his first year teacher that he was ADHD with ODD. In his documents I put the same thing. Had been asking for an IEP or 504 plan for months and my son would just be getting write ups for everything. Granted my son is extremely smart but he...

Brookview is a decent school that shows a lot of potential. They require new leadership. Having a principal who does not act like a power-hungry witch is a great way to improve.

Unfortunately we are only 3 months in and it's awful. Wish I could get my child in a charter school but they don't offer transportation so it is impossible for someone who has a regular 9-5 job to transport their child to a better school. I will be moving specifically to get my child out of this sch...

My son's teacher Mrs. Meloni was great, but that was luck. The leadership staff is lazy and bias. My son felt chastised, outcasted, and bullied at this school.
