I believe that in retrospect, the education that I received at my school was of good quality compared to some of the other schools I'm familiar with. The close relationship that you develop with the teachers due to the small size of the school is probably one of the highlights of Vision Charter. However, because of the small size of the school, there's a small class selection to choose from and not many teachers. This leads classes to often being between 30-40 students each, which makes it difficult to focus at times. Furthermore, if you wish to take a class that is not offered at the school, your only option is to take it via IDLA otherwise you're out of luck. I don't mean to imply that I dislike my school, as I do like it, I just think that it has some problems that are unique to being in a small school.

A few of the teachers have been really great and care about us learning the material. I have had some issues with our old guidance counselor and making schedules, but the new guidance counselor is much better. I do believe the office can be disorganized at times, which can sometimes be an issue, so I would like to kind of see things get more organized around the school and with how things are run.

I continue to be disappointed with the administrative overreach and overreaction to small issues. I understand that a certain level of safety is expected at schools but there should also be a certain level of expression in order to properly grow and develop in the real world. Holding high schoolers to the same level of understanding of the world as kindergartners is unacceptable.

This school is great for elementary education! Highly recommend. Once the student moves into the secondary school though they are on par with other local schools for grades 6-8 academically and with class choice options.
