At Cedar Trails Elementary, students from preschool to first grade take their first steps on the Cedar Springs academic campus. Small class sizes help students make deeper connections with their peers and get additional help from teachers when needed.
Cedar Trails uses the Multi-Tiered System of Support, a data-driven framework that guides teachers to provide instruction that meets the needs of individual students. Multilingual students can earn the Michigan Seal of Biliteracy, and the district performs ongoing assessments to identify necessary adjustments that could aid language comprehension during class.
Gifted students at Cedar Trails Elementary can enroll in programming with accelerated learning opportunities, and special education support is also available. The school provides tuition preschool for children from 4 years old and offers counseling and medical care to all students at the Cherry Health Center. Although Cedar Trails has a large student population, the student-teacher ratio is competitive for the area and helps create a welcoming environment for new students.
