Whitney High School overall is a good school. The community is really nice there and I enjoy the atmosphere. However, I believe the teachers could be better. Most of the time, teachers are not teaching the students and just piling them up with work, stressing them out.

Whitney is known for its college preparedness. You have to be invited to attend. It is very academically intense school. Those four years of my life were by far the most stressful. The culture was very difficult to function with, and peer pressure was more than normal. I tried to leave the school several times, but was denied because they needed my demographic. I'm glad I went to school, but I would never want to go if I had the choice again.

Overall, I enjoy the campus culture at Whitney. There are many expectations to be a great student, which can feel overwhelming for many, but I view it as a good challenge and opportunity for growth. Many teachers there are kind and understanding, and I feel lucky to be taught by them.

For anyone who needs it, this is the most recent review on this page. I am still a student at WHS, and I'm nearing my final years of high school. I have many staff and other personnel who I wish to call out in this review but I will keep them anonymous. None of these are personal or biased, it is pu...

Attending Whitney was a phenomenal experience due to the support of the teaching faculty, staff, and my peers. The rigorous curriculum prepares students well for college and beyond.

Although it is one of the top 3 in the state, the quality of education at Whitney High School underserves the potential of the students. The competition that the students face is unbearable; the teachers and staff do not show interest in the students' educational goals, yet expect the students to le...

There's no doubt Whitney is a fantastic school with great students, excellent teachers, and a caring staff. But readers of this site should know that Whitney's guidance department is lacking considerably. In CA, school counselors are required to hold a school counseling credential called the PPS. On...
