I attended the Academy for six years and wished that I could have stayed for many more. This school community is simultaneously rigorous and nurturing––here, I discovered the value of hard work, challenge, and leadership, and I learned how to be a responsible and accountable member of a community. I owe many of my best traits to the people I met and the lessons I learned at the Academy, and I am grateful every day for all that this school did for me.

The biggest thing people would get into trouble for was either chewing gum or eating food in the halls. But there weren't a lot of other issues on a daily basis or it's understandable.

Every student is required to play 2 sports a year but this is very difficult for some students and the options are VERY limited.

Due to the small class size, I formed a very strong bond with my classmates, including those who I probably wouldn't have spent time with if I were at a larger school. Having meaningful relationships with people who (on the surface) are very different has...

My parents encouraged me in 8th and 9th grade to look at the local public and charter schools, and I did look at them, but ultimately insisted that they keep me at Char...

Both my children attended the Academy. One attended for all 6 years and the other left after 4 years to try out a larger school. They have both gone on to successful college careers at top colleges and found that they were very well prepared to compete with other students at those schools. The Acade...
