Charlemont is a tiny private school in the middle of nowhere. Most people would not have a terrific time here but if you want a stellar education and excellent arts it's a great place. The academics are very intense but the teachers are very friendly and relaxed.

This is a school that has nothing to offer. They claim that they have good art and music programs, but the students are interested in art does not mean the art programs are good. In fact, what they offer can be found at any other schools and even much better. The academic is not rigorous at all, even boring. The courses they offer are very limited, and you do not get to choose besides some limited art courses. If you are not interested in art, this school has nothing else to offer you. Choosing to come here is the worst decision that I have ever made. I regret it, but it is too late. If you are a local and you like art, you can consider here but there are many other schools that are so much better in M.A.

Sports have their place in this school, but you should not look at rankings to decide if this is the school for you. There are no PE classes, so students are required to participate in a sport fall and spring. (Winter sports are available but optional.) There are not as many choices as at bigger schools, and the emphasis is on learning and participating as well as winning. If you aren't the strongest player on a team, you will get playing time, even in a playoff game when your team is down 2 points. If your goal is to play for the most competitive HS team, then this is probably not the school for you.
