Germain Academy for Academic Achievement, also known as Germain St. Elementary, was the first Los Angeles school to have air conditioning. Established in 1963 and home of the Mustangs, Germain Academy for Academic Achievement is a charter school located on Germain Street in Chatsworth, California. The school enrolls approximately 550 students and serves transitional kindergarten through fifth grade. Core classes include math, science, reading, language arts and social studies. Germain Academy sponsors a program of advanced studies for academically gifted students. The school proudly utilizes the John Wooden Pyramid of Success to help students build healthy self-esteem and strong positive character traits. Germain Academy also has programs for Special Education and Early Literacy and Language. Students at Germain Academy can participate in the robotics program, student council and recreational activities at the YMCA. The school uses each month to highlight positive character traits such as enthusiasm, hard work, friendship and more. Germain Academy for Academic Achievement supports its students and community by focusing on success and character.

There isn't anything about this school I wouldn't recommend. The principal is the best in the district. The teachers are loving, well rounded, and educated on discipline and ethnic difference and are very supported and dedicated to make well rounded student and child. This is our 6th year here ( tk/...

I have had 3 of my kids come here plus my nieces and nephews and we all have had amazing experiences. We love the principal, Mr Lopez. All of the teachers we have gotten have been amazing and cared so much for our kids. They worked so well with the pandemic issues and still managed making school fun...

Beware parents! This school strongly lacks safety protocols. To pick up kids here no identification required at all, and I’m referring to the TK students, not even a name will be asked if the adult picking up the child. Also, school is infested with tablets and phones with no supervision of what kid...

The leadership makes this school good. The office staff are also caring and extremely helpful. The biggest challenges are the children who attend the school. The teachers, like all teachers, could use some implicit bias training.
