Established in 2005, Our Community Charter is an award winning public charter school in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Located at 10045 Jumilla Avenue in the city of Chatsworth, the school enrolls approximately 429 students and serves transitional kindergarten through eighth grade. Home of the Wolves, Our Community Charter strives to create a culture of acceptance and belonging where all students can thrive. The school functions as a community and maintains a mission to develop the physical, emotional, intellectual, artistic and social aspects of each student. Core curriculum from kindergarten to fifth grade includes math, reading, writing, social studies, science, spelling and grammar. Curriculum for students in sixth to eighth grade adds a course in history and language arts. The school creates a unique partnership between students and teachers, as they work alongside each other to create codes of conduct and vote on rules to address issues. The school also features a school garden and community recycling program. Our Community Charter proudly sponsors a weekly student senate led by eighth graders where student representatives identify issues and brainstorm to offer solutions. The school features a sports program offering coed flag football, basketball, soccer and volleyball.

The school does not give enough support or attention to special needs students. They have a large special needs population and they are not processing like they should be.
